___ 01 . NPC Scan Related & Mob Facts ___
Aeonaxx has 2 NPC IDs.
1. 50062 Friendly
2. 51236 Engaged
3. 3868 Blood Seeker (placeholder npc, spawns if aeonaxx doesn't. think vyragosa)

All Rares in Deepholm (+ Blood Seeker):
Aeonaxx 50062
Aeonaxx(engaged) 51236
Blood Seeker 3868
Golgorak 50059
Jadefang 49822
Terborus 50060
Xariona 50061

___ Hitpoint Data ___
Aeonaxx health pool: 774,900
Young Stone Drake health pool: 7,749

The corpse Despawns very quickly. There's no point in looking for a corpse if you know it was mounted. It flies too fast, covers too much ground, and is usually impossible to find the corpse of unless the person waits 20-30 minutes to loot it so you can find it - which never happens.

Note:  In Windows Vista / 7 - sometimes you have to clear the cache differently it turns out.  I all the sudden started having the problem I had been asked about by others "why can't I clear my cache and make NPC scan show things aren't cached all the sudden?"  Sometimes you have to go to this location and clear the cache there:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\*wow folder*\Cache\WDB\enUS

___ 02 . Spawn Spots ___

On the Left is Aeonaxx. On the Right is the mount he drops.

These are the currently known spawn spots. They share spawn
spots with a level 15 non-elite/non-rare named Blood Seeker.
See: Theories page for more information on the six known spawn spots.

NOTE:  WE WANT EVIDENCE OF AN EASTERN SPAWN SPOT.  Not a pic of you on the mount you got saying you got it there.  I want screenshots of Blood Seeker chilling there, or Aeonaxx there, video, any actual proof.  Will love you forever.

For images of Blood Seeker and video of Aeonaxx mounts on each spawn location:
Visit the Img/Vid page. A good collection is there.

The circles aren't perfect, but they're intentend to give a general idea of the areas Aeonaxx sticks to.
(The circles are that big because if you see the wingspan.. Yes. It's a massive npc.)

___ 03 . Spawn Timer and Phasing ___
First of all, the spawn time seems to be a repeat of the 5-22+ hours between either Aeonaxx or Blood Seeker spawns. This is based on a huge chunk of research done by Ponderance and multiple pieces of research done by others. What this means is every 5-22+ hours, there will be a spawn.  Seems to be 1/16ish chance to be Aeonaxx, 15/16ish chance it will in fact be Blood Seeker again.  RNG, baby!

Note:  As of 4.0.6, it seems Blood Seeker is no longer up for the 4-7ish minutes it previously stayed up for.  Now, it is reported that it can despawn as fast as a second and a half.  Hopefully this is a bug and we will report as new information comes in.

When Maintenance happens, after the servers come up everything should be reset and it'll spawn whenever it decides to.  If there was a reset, usually it doesn't effect spawn timers.  Any No Spawn windows should still be in effect (Windows where it has spawned too soon ago for it to have a chance to spawn again.) One thing resets definitely do change is the connection state of your clients.  Keep that in mind, resets disconnect you if you're not there to see it.  So factor that into your afk time.

Phasing
View Ponderance's Phase Study <== This shows exactly when people are phased in Jagged Wastes.
All evidence and accounts from people on various servers point exclusively to Aeonaxx being able to be seen from all phases.  Many accounts of people seeing Aeonaxx, going to mount and it already being in progress - followed by a dismount (with a parachute lately, it sounds to have been hotfixed to.) From someone in one phase later talking to the person from the other phase who got it, comparing notes to come to the same conclusion - people in multiple phases seeing the same Aeonaxx.  Just that the players can't see eachother.

___ 04 . Encounter ___
IF YOU GET DISCONNECTED DURING THE ENCOUNTER, IT WILL DESPAWN AND YOU WILL NOT GET THE MOUNT.

When Aeonaxx spawns it flies in a tight circle right where it spawned. It does not circle the Temple of Earth before being mounted. The way you mount it is like a Vehicle. You approach it and right click it just like a vehicle. You can also get in range and hit Interact with Target when you have it targeted, if you have Click to Move enabled, and it will fly to it and mount it. But, you must be close enough for it to work. I believe it's probably 30-40 yards or less. I know it doesn't work at 100s of yards. And only works when it is friendly mountable mode.

AND NOTE: Make a macro such as below.

/target aeonaxx

/cast *instant cast spell*

Spam the shit out of it after you mount. You must make sure, to be safe, to get the first tag on Aeonaxx. Ponderance hasn't been able to replicate it, but there was a report of someone missing the mount, getting angry, and hitting it the MOMENT it became aggro, slowfalling and getting the tag on it. The guy who mounted it logged out after and the guy who missed it found a sparkling Aeonaxx corpse and looted the mount. Again, Ponderance hasn't been able to duplicate this, however if you know how tag mechanics work in the game, it's better to be safe than sorry. (aka, no reason to doubt this is entirely possible. It's a camping game changer folks.)

After you mount it, it will take off and start it's path around Deepholm exiting near NW1. Aeonaxx itself does no damage to you. So you can ignore that while you cast your buffs. After a few seconds the adds will start spawning. They are called Young Stone Drake and die easily. These are what you must kill first. If you are confident their 3-4k damage a piece every few seconds can be absorbed by your combat self healing or whatever while you nuke Aeonaxx, go for it. But in most cases you will want to kill them the moment they come up, because they pile up and become a ton of damage.

Do not be frightened, it is an encounter I have done on a level 82 DK with ilvl265 and an 82 Boomkin with 277ilvl. It's not hard, you just must maintain focus and get those Young Stone Drakes down hard and fast.

Basic Fight Tips:
You can make a target macro such as the following

/tar Aeonaxx
/tar Young Stone Drake

Spam this simple macro and it will always keep the Young Stone Drakes targeted while they are up, and when they are not it will keep your target back on Aeonaxx. It is very simple, and there are various other ways to do this.

IF YOU USE AGGRO DROPPING SPELLS SUCH AS FEIGN DEATH IT WILL DROP YOU OFF OF HIM, AND DESPAWN HIM.

Once Aeonaxx dies, you will fall to the ground with it.  You will be given a parachute.  Then you can loot the new mount.

Further Targeting Information:
As you should know by now, Aeonaxx's friendly unmounted visual range is quite large.  What may not be so well known is that is the same visual range when it is mounted and in combat.  However, you can not target the friendly NPC - which is what you see - while it is being fought.  Now, what you target while it is being fought is the enemy ID, which has a small visual range (Think Blood Seeker.)  You must be fairly close, say, 70 yards from the center of Aeonaxx to be able to target it while engaged, and subsequently set off the enemy ID.  The enemy ID may even briefly be targetable and set off your enemy id but before you can try to target it fall out of range, while still technically visible.  This causes confusion as sometimes people don't get to their screen in time, both friendly and enemy triggered, and unable to target it at all even though the enemy ID just went off.

Hope this clears things up!
